Marcelo Retamal, De Martino
Itata Valley, Chile
The aroma of this pale golden wine is intense – a floral character underpinned by apricots. The fermentation occurs naturally over 15 days in century old clay pots (tinajas) and then aged over winter for 6 months, in contact with its skins.
'The flavours are so intense and distinctive – you could never ignore it or talk over it.'
Marmalade, apricots and white flowers supported by straight line acidity and mineral depth.
