Located fifteen kilometres north-east of Nîmes, the land at Domaine Ocre Rouge is covered in quartz pebbles, like in Côtes du Rhône, and is interspersed with red ocher clay on a hard limestone rock. Ocre Rouge create fantasically characerful wines because of their natural approach to winemaking. No refining or filtration, low yeilds and natural yeasts being just the start.
From the very elegant hands of Aymeric and Marceline Beaufort who deserve special mention for their extraordinary skill.
A bubbly bottle, expect a sip to be vivacious and bold but with plenty of edge. Delicious colour - not pink, not peach.
